Argent LNG selects Baker Hughes as technology provider for LNG facility

The project will incorporate Baker Hughes’ technologies, including its NMBL™ modularised LNG solution powered by an LM9000 gas turbine. These modules, pre-fabricated and tested at Baker Hughes’ facilities, will ensure scalable and reliable LNG production to the project, integrating iCenter™ digital solutions powered by Cordant™ to maximise availability, reliability, and operational efficiency. Baker Hughes will also provide power generation units driven by LM9000 gas turbines and provide multi-year services to support Argent LNG terminal operations.

Baker Hughes will supply cutting-edge liquefaction solutions, power generation equipment and gas compression systems for the facility, which is set to deliver approximately 24 million tons per annum (MTPA) of LNG.

Bangladesh signs HOA with Argent LLC

US President Donald Trump’s “Drill, Baby, Drill” energy mandate, promoting the exploration and export of US energy resources, provided the foundation for this agreement. The deal was signed by Ashik Chowdhury, Executive Chairman of BIDA, and Jonathan Bass, Chairman and CEO of Argent LNG, in a ceremony at the Bangladesh Embassy in Washington, D.C on 24 January 2025.

Louisiana's Argent LNG sets deal with government of Bangladesh

HOUSTON, Jan 24 (Reuters) - Argent LNG, which is developing a 25 million metric tonnes per annum (MTPA) LNG facility in Louisiana, has signed a non-binding agreement with the government of Bangladesh to purchase up to 5 million metric tons of liquefied natural gas (LNG) annually, the company said in a statement on Friday.
